Decreasing extra salt and fluid in the body helps to decrease swelling and breathing problems from congestive heart failure and increases your ability to exercise. Indapamide is a "water pill" (diuretic) that increases the amount of urine you make. Getting rid of extra water and salt may help to relax the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily. This one was added when my bp was remaining high despite maxing out on other meds.
